Teche Theater, Franklin, 1967

In the summer of 1939, the Teche Theater made its debut at a time when two classic movies, "Gone with the Wind" and "The Grapes of Wrath" were released. Adjacent to it was Shinn's, a place where moviegoers could grab a burger after a show. The peak period of the theater's success spanned from 1939 to 1970. After being restored, it reopened its doors in 2001 as a performing arts center. It is located at 501 Main Street.
