Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

The store had relocated from 712 Main Street and was managed by Joseph Vaccarella. The new location boasted a frozen foods section, which was a new product in high demand, and a larger parking lot. Later, on October 28, 1968, A&P held another grand opening at its new location in the Brown-Castille shopping center at 1812 Main Street. A&P, established in 1859, was once the largest grocer in the United States; however, it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010 and eventually closed in 2015. Ory Miguez captured these photos for a law firm.
