Along with his brother Justin, they worked for their uncle in Jeanerette. Later in 1910, the brothers started a store in Baldwin. Thereafter, in 1927, Louis Wormser established the Louis Wormser department store at 605 Main Street, which offered a range of high-quality brand name clothing for men, women, and children. Wormser's closed in the late 1990s.
