Damrosch, Leopold (1832-1885)

Leopold Damrosch (b Posen [now Poznań], 22 Oct 1832; d New York, 15 Feb 1885). Violinist, composer and conductor. Damrosch served under Liszt in Weimar in 1857 before moving to Breslau in 1858 and New York in 1871, where he remained.
