Feeding a Crowd


Ah switchel (or also known as Ginger Water). Nothing is quite as satisfying on a scorching summer day as switchel. This classic drink is slightly sweet-tart, with a satisfying citrus aftertaste. Even if you're beyond thirsty, this drink will keep you satisfied and keep you from feeling sick afterwards.

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tsp ginger
1/2 cup to 3/4 cup molasses, maple syrup, or brown sugar to sweeten
4 cups cold sparkling water (lime works well). Flat water works as well.

​Combine ginger, sweetener, and apple cider vinegar into half gallon jug. Shake until fully dissolved. Add water and shake again.

​Optional: Add lime and/or lemon or mint leaves to add an additional kick.

Makes 6 servings.
