Czechoslovakia itself had been formed at the end of World War I, following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, however, prior to the war the two nations have been interconnected in various ways multiple times, that will be discussed in this section of the book.
Going through the early historical mentions of these two nations, their struggles in 19th century as well as the transformation through the World War I, we will arrive at the point of forming The First Republic of Czechoslovakia, that has for the first time officially united Slovak and Czech nations in a sovereign state.
