How to Create a Eating Together Podcast
There are several different episode formats on this podcast, so to get started...
What kind of episode format will you follow?
- In-person interview
- Voice over IP (e.g. Google Meets, Zoom, Skype) interview
- Interview from an existing YouTube video
- Public Talk from an existing YouTube video
- Audio format recorded directly or extracted from video
- Archival -- the whole thing, with thorough description and metadata
- Edited -- shortened down, either just a little bit, clipping unnecessary bits, or a significant amount (to key points), or radically, to a very short edit (1, 3, 5, 10 minutes) -- formats should consider good venues for audiences, and particularly for creating pathways back to the larger collections and longer recordings. Formats to consider include:
- Spotlights -- short interviews introducing a person, organization, event, or idea
- Shorts (i.e. 1 minute or shorter clips on YouTube)
- "Did You Knows" are short social media posts that pull out a single point from a recording to provide a link back to a longer version -- these can be short video clips or poster format key points. Mythbusters, images with explanations, high impact facts, or quotes can be good "hooks" for gaining attention
