Affordances of Technology
Towards the end of my classroom teaching career, I found an ebook perfect for my students. However, my Native Literature team had been emphasizing annotation as a comprehension strategy for years. I searched for digital alternative and found a tool that would allow my students to read and annotate the digital text.

As we worked on our digital annotations, we found advantages in sharing our thoughts with the class. I was able to review annotations before class to see where students were confused and what issues might be discussed as a class. I was also able to embed my own multi-media annotations in response to students' questions.
