Company 1341 was organize as an L. E. M. Company in 1933 in Virginia. In the Fall of 1933 it was moved to Ferron, Utah, where the company remained until the spring of 1934, when it was moved to Mentone, California. In the Fall of 1934 it moved to Camp Nine Mile at Alberton, Montana, and sometime during that period it was changed to a Junior Company. In the Spring [...] 1935 Company 1341 was changed to Company 1999 and shortly thereafter it was moved to Camp F-53, Ekalala, Ekalaka, Montana, where the enrollee members constructed a new camp. This camp was 60 miles from a railhead, the closest one being at Baker, Montana. It was during this time that the company was snowed in for weeks at a time and it was impossible to get even the sick enrollees to a Hospital. In spite of this fact, however, the enrollees liked this location very much, and it was with regret that in May, 1935, they were moved to BR-33, Sun River, Augusta, Montana, which is about twenty miles from t he present camp and located on the Pishkin reservoir. It was at this place that the enrollees endured the sun, wind, dust and treeless prairies for 4 or 5 months. On October 23, 1935, the Company packed up the old knap sack and started for Camp F-61, Belt Creek, at Neihart, Montana, which is probably the best location of all, and here we are.
