US Latinx Activism and Protests: From the Farm to the (Legislative) Table

Delight

Braceros for the most part were delighted to begin a life in America and experience American culture. This clearly represented in the workers which are smiling, no doubt out of excitement. Though, in this section of the image there can also be seen a contrast with those individuals looking ahead in a deadpan manner. Once again this seems to tie into a kind of foreshadowing of the reality which the workers would endure and from it surges a sense of disillusionment, common after some time in a number of braceros.
