Goodbye Hometown Hero
The cloud that I once let hold me evaporates
And my existence? Well.
Now that I am victor
And you are tethered to the Prometheus of the past
I fade into a vendetta
A sweet-scented funeral pyre.
I get the Viking’s farewell.
You are the ones I pillaged.
I ravished you for inspiration
Sewed you back together sloppily into a patchwork husk.
You lay facedown reveling in the past.
I kick the dust into your eyes
Smile, and float away.
