Carolyn Guyer's Biography
Adapted from Guyer's International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) biography and her Eastgate Systems biography page.Carolyn Guyer, the author of Quibbling (1992) is among the first wave of American writers to create hypertext fiction. Her other hypertexts include the first published collaborative hypertext fiction, Izme Pass (1991) with co-author Martha Petry, the collaborative, intercultural web project Mother Millenia, and critical work published in Writing on the Edge. She was the founder and coordinator of HiPitched Voices, a women’s hypertext collective which was best known for helping to launch the Hypertext Hote1M00, located at Brown University. In addition to her work in electronic media, Guyer is a visual artist in raku, fiber, and mixed media.
