Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

The song starts off with the young Philip Hamilton and his mother learning French, specifically 1-9 and especially "sept(7), huit(8), neuf(9)". Alexander and Angelica write letters to each other informing them of events. Eliza summons Alexander and 9 year old Philip shows off his rapping skills. Angelica and arrives and the family prepare to go on vacation, however Alexander stays back to continue to work.
The Schuyler sisters are back together! For the first time since act 1, the audience is reminded how much the women love and care for each other. Also how much they both care about Alexander. Although this man be a complicated love triangle they all still love each other very much and want what is best. Although they want the company to go "away" with their beloved Alexander, he is far too busy. Not going with the girls and his son is mistake number 1. However I completely understand the desire to keep working because it MUST get done. It is that human desire to choose between fun and work. Alexander chose work and if he keeps doing that it will drive a wedge between the fun. He (like many human beings) will have to learn this lesson the hard way.
