Early Years of Farming

The crops that were popular then generally fell in the categories of rice and lentels (different variety - masoorie, matara) in lands where there is more moisture but corn and mustard where there is less moisture.
You plant crops where it should be planted such as rice needs more water therefore you plant them in "Khuluwa [kha-loo-wa] " (land where its easier to irrigate and also water can be retained - especially for rice) and "diooha) [dee-oo-ha] (where it's hard to irrigate and the land is raised and difficult to irrigate and tends to hold less moisture compared to the paddy fields.
