As chief surgeon of the CF&I Medical Department he oversaw the development of "Minnequa Hospital," constructed in 1902 which is now known as St. Mary-Corwin Hospital located in Pueblo, Colorado. In addition to the Medical Department he oversaw the CF&I Sociological Department.
