Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Among these are tools for deleting selected books and users on your Scalar installation.
To delete books on your Scalar installation, click “Generate” next to “List all books” in the “Tools” tab, select the book or books you’d like to delete by ticking the box next to each title in the resulting list, and click “Delete selected books.”
To delete users and all books associated with their account, click “Generate” next to “List all users” in the “Tools” tab, select the user or users you’d like to delete by ticking the box next to their user name in the resulting list, and click “Delete selected users and books they author.” Use this tools with extreme caution as it will delete every book authored by the user including those books on which they are co-authors.
