David Shimonovitz

David Shimonovitz (1886–1956) was a poet and translator. Born in Belorussia, Shimonovitz moved to Palestine in 1909 for about a year, where he made friendships with Hebrew writers before returning to Russia and onward to Berlin. By 1923 he moved to Tel Aviv to teach Hebrew, comparative literature, and biblical studies at the Herzliya gymnasium.
