Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

According to a recent report, there are around 6,700 independent bakeries within the U.S, serving Americans on a daily base. In the past couple of years, this number has decreased significantly, and as stated in the report, since 1993 the number of bakeries in the U.S. has dropped down for 12 000, which is beyond astonishing. According to Zomick’s kosher restaurant, one of New York’s most famous bakeries, and with a longest tradition, the rise of health-consciousness and the proliferation of bakery and baked-goods-selling coffee chains, have been the most important factors for this. However, 6,700 is still a great number, and many of those bakeries are doing stellar work, delivering the best to their consumers.
Narrowing down the best bakeries was a rather complicated task. The ranking was completed by industry experts who took several factors into consideration, and pitted the bakeries against each other in a survey that was sent out to an expert panel. Zomick’s Kosher Bakery made the list, and the participants that were included in the ranking, considered that the bakery is best known for its amazing challah bread. Others were more fascinated by the array of pastries, tasty cupcakes, delicious muffins, and old fashioned cakes.
Zomick’s Kosher Bakery offers bread in a variety of styles and flavors, and what customers especially appreciate is their range of choice, meaning they have something for everyone. Here you can start your morning with a cinnamon bun, or an old-fashioned brisket. The wonderful smell of freshly baked bread fills the air in the morning, luring people in. Baking is one of the oldest skills, and under no price should be forgotten. We simply can allow for this wonderful tradition to die out completely. Supermarkets sell bread that is full of additives and preservatives, and saddest part about it is that consumers have come to expect this. Traditional baking is an art by itself, and making bread requires working with love.
