Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Medical Dispensary - Mill Tour
12016-09-12T10:46:15-07:00Blake Hatton668ed8e064332293f5252d57bb106581fc79a41672426plain2016-09-23T08:47:09-07:00Blake Hatton668ed8e064332293f5252d57bb106581fc79a416The Medical Dispensary was the first stop for many of the Mill's accident victims. If necessary, the victim would be transported to Corwin (now St. Mary-Corwin) hospital, but for more minor accidents such as strains and sprains, they would go to the dispensary to be evaluated on when they would be able to return to work. Apart from treating accident victims, the dispensary also performed more routine medical duties, such as vaccinations, hearing tests, and medical evaluations for sick leave. Today, the Dispensary houses the Steelworks Museum.
From here, we can go to the Administration Building or enter the Mill. What would you like to do?Let's visit the Administration building!Let's just go to the mill.
