Carolyn Guyer's Biography

Carolyn Guyer, the author of Quibbling (1992) is among the first wave of American writers to create hypertext fiction. Her other hyper­texts include the first published collaborative hypertext fiction, Izme Pass (1991) with co-author Martha Petry, the collaborative, intercultural web project Mother Millenia, and critical work published in Writing on the Edge. She was the founder and coordinator of HiPitched Voices, a women’s hypertext collective which was best known for helping to launch the Hypertext Hote1M00, located at Brown University. In addition to her work in electronic media, Guyer is a visual artist in raku, fiber, and mixed media.
