Folder 8 (80 pages) - August, 1968
Telegrams and messages pertaining to the USSR intervention in Czechoslovakia during the Czech crisis. Several telegrams concern the US embassy in Czechoslovakia, written as internal messages of the United States government, either State Department or president Johnson’s staff. Rostow makes note of the increasing threat of USSR as the occupation grows. One commentary of a speech made by Dubcek marked his very disheartened tone at the USSR intervention. Also included is a chronology of all action taken by the United States during the Czech Crisis.
