Fighting for the Water: Fracking Wastewater in Ohi:yo'
The Watershed Resources Working Group (WRWG) is a technical advisory board of the Seneca Nation. Approved and appointed by the Nation's Council, WRWG is made of various Seneca Nation departments, such as the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Environmental Protection, Health Systems-Environmental Health Unit, and Planning-Geographic Information Services (GIS). The WRWG focuses on monitoring the health and risks to our watersheds on our Seneca Nation territories. The WRWG are involved in monitoring and sampling Blue-Green Algae levels within Ohi:yo' and are also involved in the recent events in Coudersport, Pennsylvania that threatened to dump fracking wastewater in Ohi:yo'.
