Joey still feels enclosed by the machine. However, he draws himself bigger than before which shows that his self-esteem is growing. He also draws the inside of his bowels without connection to a tube or wire which shows that he is beginning to accept that his body can operate without the machine. Although he still pictures himself as part of the machine, he has progressed from the first picture.
