Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

I am most grateful to Kristin Bluemel, Editor emerita, for giving me the opportunity to serve as Editor; filling her shoes gave me something to which I might aspire. And I am grateful to Jennifer Nesbitt for stepping into this role. I know she will fulfill it admirably and take the journal in new directions, while remaining true to its remit.
I would like to acknowledge my collaborators Elizabeth Evans, current Book Review Editor, and Geneviève Brassard, former Book Review Editor. I have heartily appreciated their vision for one of the most important aspects of the journal, their unflagging support and enthusiasm for modernist and intermodernist scholarship, and their keen eyes for its trends and currents as well as for its work still be to be discovered. Thanks are due to Amanda Golden, inaugural Editor of our Dispatches from the Intermodernist Archive feature, for imagining the potential of such a feature and for bringing forth the rich archive of the space between.
To all of the special issue guest editors with whom I have had the pleasure and privilege to work—Phyllis Lassner and Will May, James McManus, and Sarah Cornish and Alexis Pogorelskin—many, many thanks are due. I have been perpetually impressed with the breadth and depth of their expertise, and excited by the richness of the interventions they have made.
I extend profound thanks to The Space Between Society: to its members who offer such a collegial and intellectually invigorating community, and to the Board of the Society, for its continuous support over the years I have served. Thanks in particular to the Presidents with whom I had the good fortune to work: Claire Buck, Robin Feenstra, Melissa Dinsman, and Barbara Green.
Finally, my deepest, most heartfelt thanks go to the authors with whom I have had the pleasure, and honor, to work. These scholars and writers have made the journal what it is, and to support them and to witness the unfolding of their intellectual endeavors, to see their contributions to our field manifest, has been and is one of my greatest joys. I look forward to finding ways to continue to do so, even once I have left the editor's chair.
