Grandma Storlie's Cardamom Bread Recipe

Cardamom Bread
1 package active yeast                                                               
¼ cup warm water
1 cup milk
½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
2 eggs slightly beaten (reserve 1 tbls for later)
8 oz candied fruit
2 ½ tsp cardamom seed (toast and roll finely)
1 tsp salt
4 to 4 ½ cups sifted flour
Directions:
  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water
  2. Combine milk, butter, and sugar in a bowl
  3. Combine eggs, fruit, cardamom seeds, and salt mix into the yeast. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add flour into yeast to form stiff dough. Mix in after each addition.
  5. Let dough rise for 90 minutes or until doubled
  6. Knead dough in two 9x13 brad pans. Let rise again until doubled.
  7. Brush reserve egg on top of bread
  8. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes
