I think most of us, recall being woken by a smell of something good cooking the kitchen. For me it was the smell of goodness that got me out of bed early on the weekends. As we all know, there is always someone special behind that good, delicious smell. For me, it was always my mother Sandy Eggermont. I would like to thank her for this experience, an experiment that paved a way to loving and appreciating food.  I would also like to thank her for taking her time and helping me come up with the materials needed for this mini-book and with the interview. I would also like to thank my teacher Dr. Joy K. Lintelman, for giving me an opportunity to learn so much about something different and its significance affect on Norwegians around the world. Her experience and knowledge played a huge role in to creating this mini-book. To my classmates as well thank you. A special thank you to Mr. Boyd Wermedahl for dedicating his time to do the interview.
