A Royal Affair Analysis

Beginning in 1767, A Royal Affair recounts the controversial life of the King Christian VII, Queen Caroline, and Johann Struensee during the Danish Enlightenment. The plot of the film revolves around the relationships between them, both romantic and political.  It begins with the King and Queen's marriage and Struensee is quickly introduced.  The three of them work together in different ways to achieve personal goals for themselves and Denmark.  The film serves as a historical reference of the initial Enlightenment movement during late 18th century in Denmark, and the love affair that was assisting it.
