Introduction to Digital Humanities

Schedule

Course Requirements

Final course grades will be calculated as follows:

20%- Hypothes.is Annotations
50%- Workbook Assignments
30%- Final Project

Hypothes.is Annotations

During  the first 3 modules of the course, you will collaboratively annotate assigned readings and/or websites. Since this assignment is designed to prepare you for seminar discussions, you must post your annotations before class on Thursday and your annotations must demonstrate that you have critically engaged with the assigned texts.

Workbook Assignments

You will also complete one skill-building workbook assignment per week during the first 3 modules of the course. To receive full credit you must complete the entire assignment and post it before class.

Final Project

Building on the skills that you have developed and the feedback that you have received, you will find or create a humanities data set, which you will visualize with at least two DH methods from Module II and analyze in light of the critical perspectives that we have examined throughout the course. To showcase your interpretation, you will design your own Scalar project with an updated personal bio.
