One of several “Georgia Wonder Girls” acts to emerge in the early 1880s, Mattie Lee Price performed under various names, including GAZA, Mysterious Gaza, and Gaza the strong woman. Here she is billed as “The Famous Georgia Magnet.” These acts were part strongwoman, part stage magician, and were often known as “electric” or “magnet” girls. Price performed with numerous shows in Europe and America, including the Walter L. Main circus, various opera house and dime museums, and The Barnum & Bailey Greatest Show on Earth,
