"Presentimiento" (1924)
En route Mexico City, the bolero arrived in the Yucatan, where it became known as "bolero Yucateco," played in a style known as "trova Yucateca." These sub-genres remained relatively faithful to the Cuban styles. Emilio Pacheco of Campeche was one songwriter of bolero Yucateco. "Presentimiento" is one of his better-known songs, which he composed in 1924.
| Without knowing you existed, I desired you, Before meeting you, I imagined you You arrived in that moment In which I waited There was no surprise When I found you The day that you crossed Through my path I had the foreboding sensation Of some fatal occurrence Those eyes, I told myself Are my destiny And those brown arms Are my noose |
