The music examples for Chapter 4. "Merging the Senses: The Russian Symbolist Poetics of Light and Aleksandr Scriabin’s Electric Prometheus" illustrate the consonances or dissonance of Scriabin's music. Each listener is invited to experience harmonious or jarring acoustic effect. Before you listen to the examples, read their descriptions in the YouTube video. Then play each music example following its progression by tracking the green line and noting the consonance or dissonance of the intervals, scales, and excerpts from Scriabin's Prometheus. Since in the video, the examples flow together, you will need to pause between them to read the text in the video or the book.
