Educational Migrants
Many of the students who come to Beijing are migrants of some kind, whether they are from other provinces, other countries in Asia, or other countries in the world.
During my time in Beijing I had students from every province in China, including Tibet and Xinjiang.
I also never thought that teaching in China I would have students from countries as diverse as South Korea, North Korea, Iran, Haiti, Burma, Indonesia, Russia, and Columbia.
Students from Beijing also leave the city spreading across the world, to all sorts of educational institutions. As I sit writing this there is one person from Beijing in the room. . . and student migrants are growing in number each year.
