Katherine Herrera

Katherine is 3rd year undergraduate UCLA student majoring in International Development Studies with a concentration in Latin America and the Caribbean, and double minoring in Portuguese and Labor and Workplace Studies. She is very involved with her community, currently serving as a Peer Advisor at Santa Monica High School and leading the 2014 Raza Youth Conference as Workshop Committee Chair. Katherine is very passionate about human rights, especially in periphery countries. She hopes to one day lead campaigns that will advocate for the equal treatment of womyn all around the world focusing on South American countries like Colombia and Brazil. She is the oldest of 2, and comes from a very tightly-knit Colombian family. She loves to eat arepas, do yoga, and have Lord of the Rings movie marathons.
