Digital History Seminar: 20th Century Spain

Thematic Exhibit Prompt

Select a theme related to our course topic and create an exhibit that links interactive primary source material with original scholarship. To make your primary source materials interactive, you can annotate them, link them to specific portions of your text, visualize them on a map or timeline, and/or analyze them with other digital humanities tools and integrate the results into our Scalar project.  To produce original scholarship, develop a clear historical interpretation based upon a critical analysis of your primary sources and a thoughtful review and synthesis of the relevant secondary literature.

While your exhibit must adhere to the project's writing and media guidelines, I encourage you to experiment with the relationships between form and content and text and media to produce an exhibit that takes design as the "foundation for the conceptualization and production of knowledge" [1].
