Course Format

This course is divided into two modules. The first module is discussion and presentation based. Each week will begin with a primary source presentation based on the previous week's materials. In preparation you will write a 2-3 page reflection paper that critically examines how the primary source(s) you added to the digital collection relate to the previous week's seminar discussion and assigned readings. Because response papers are designed to prepare you for in-class presentations, I will only accept papers in class on the day that they are due (except in cases of excused absences and genuine emergencies). The second module is project based. Building on the content knowledge and skills that you developed during the first module, you will use the course's project resources to research, design, and create a thematic exhibit that pairs original scholarship with interactive primary source material.
