ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Micaiah Anderson-Michaud is a senior studying English with a minor in Psychology. She is an aspiring writer with a penchant for understanding complex topics and making them easier for others to understand as well.

Vita Anna is currently a sophomore at UAA, with a major in Computer Science and minor in Mathematics.
RAVEN BOWIE
Raven Bowie graduated from the Alaska Middle College School in 2023. She hopes to one day work in the film industry.
VIOLET BOWIE
Violet Bowie is a high school junior at Alaska Middle College. He has been writing poetry on and off since he was nine years old. In his free time, he enjoys playing music and reading the occasional Agatha Christie.
SAVANNAH CLARY
Savannah grew up in Alaska, has an Associate's degree out of KPC, and is working on getting their Bachelor's. She is a senior majoring in English, with a minor in Philosophy.
EMILY DICUS
Emily Dicus, a freshman with a Psychology major, walks this path in search of new and rewarding experiences, and wishes to inspire those around her to broaden their scope and see the world at a deeper level. She is an inexperienced, but very passionate, writer who's fallen in love with art and the beauty of life.
KERRI ERWIN
Kerri Erwin is a senior majoring in English with a minor in Psychology.
CAROLINE GAMACHE
Caroline Gamache is a marketing professional who obtained an Occupational Endorsement Certificate (OEC) in Professional Writing to further her career and writing skills.
SARA HARING-MATOS
Sara is a third-year English major. She majored in English with hopes of entering the professional publishing field and eventually having some of her work published.
DEVIN HIGGINS
Devin Higgins is a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Computer Science and Mathematics. He is a longtime fiction writer and the president of UAA’s Creative Writing Club.
ALYSSA HILL
Alyssa Hill is a junior majoring in Anthropology with a minor in English. Alyssa was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, and is a proud member of the UAA alpine ski team.
AMIAH JARED
Amiah Jared is a sophomore at UAA studying Environmental Science. Amiah moved to Anchorage from Seattle area in 2022, where she grew up loving the outdoors and worked with groups such as Inspiring Girls Expeditions and the Elana Gold Project. She's passionate about making sustainability accessible for everyone, and currently runs UAA's Combat Climate Change Club (C4) while she works on her degree.
HANNAH KILBOURNE
Like many English majors, she grew up with a love of reading and wanted to see how she could turn that into a future career. She is currently a senior with a major in English and minor in creative writing.
ETHAN LAVEA
Ethan Lavea is currently a junior majoring in Psychology.
LARRY MARISCAL
Larry Mariscal is a senior majoring in English with a minor in Art and Creative Writing. They enjoy reading, writing, and scary video games.
BRIDGET MEDO
Bridget graduated last December with a major in English and a minor in Anthropology. She's been interested in writing since elementary school and has been part of UAA's Creative Writing Club for several years.

Megan Moore is a senior majoring in Mathematics with minors in Creative Writing and Computer Systems Engineering.
TAYLOR MORRISON
Taylor Morrison graduated in May 2023 with a B.A. in English, Minor in Creative Writing, and an O.E.C in Professional Writing. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Education with the plan to teach English at the secondary level.
KATALYNA MOUA
Katalyna Moua is a senior pursuing a degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing. In her free time, she is either reading, knitting, crocheting, or spending time with her dogs.
MALACHI O’ROURKE
Malachi O’Rourke graduated with a Baccalaureate degree in English in 2023.
RYAN ORTEN
Ryan Orten is a lifelong Alaskan and UAA alumni with a keen interest in criminal justice. He aspires to further develop his understanding of the subject through fieldwork as a police officer—though hopefully leaving some time to pursue his favorite activities like hiking and fishing in his home state. He graduated from UAA last year with a major in Justice and a minor in English.
AYŞA ÖZTURGUT
Ayşe Özturgut, she/her, graduated in May of 2023, but takes German classes at UAA when she has time to. When not working as a very entry-level archaeologist, all she does is drink tea, sew clothes, and go for long walks, sometimes in company and often alone.
MIKE SHIFFER
Mike Shiffer worked in social services for the state of Alaska and earned a Master of Public Administration from UAA, 1994. He is a postgraduate student studying creative writing.

Heather M. Stefanec, a senior majoring in English with a minor in Creative Writing, is an adventurous and boundary-pushing writer known for her genre-bending narratives. With a unique and captivating voice, her published works exemplify a commitment to innovation and excellence, leaving a dynamic impact on the literary scene.
DYLAN WYNN
Dylan Wynn is a senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English. He is 22 years old and was born in Alabama, but has been all around the U.S. since his dad is a member of the Coast Guard. He enjoys writing creatively, cooking/trying new food, and playing strategy games.
