In designing the contemporary aesthetic for Amnesia, the reconstruction team opted to maintain the "Noir" mood by choosing a black background. The logo include the white top hat, the bowtie, and the key as references to white tuxedo the player wears during the game and the hotel room where the player wakes up with the titular amnesia.
