During this time, he wrote for student publications, also working part-time as a journalist, reviewer and researcher for the Magill Magazine and the Sunday Tribune (www.josephoconnorauthor.com). A Contemporary Literature titled “An Interview With Joseph O’Connor” by Jose Manuel Estevez-Saa, states that from the University College, Dublin, “O’Connor received a B.A and a M.A in English and history and later [briefly] studied at the University of Oxford” (161). O’Connor’s M.A major thesis was on the work of the 1930s Irish poet and activist Charles Donnelly for which he was awarded a First Class Honors. “In December 2011, he received an honorary Doctorate in Literature from University College Dublin” (www.josephoconnorauthor.com).
