Film Portrayals

The "Film Portrayal" sections divide each film into its major differences from, and similarities to, its factual source material. We looked for four types of deviations from the real-life narrative:

Substantial additions that were not present in the actual case
Substantial omissions of elements that were present in the actual case
Substantial changes to observable elements of the actual case
Narrative liberties (primarily made for entertainment value and continuity) that could potentially be accurate, but are not based in evidence

This section does not include any discussion of the impact that these choices make on the viewing experience; it merely identifies them.
