He began is the early 1980’s as a high school social studies teacher in Newfoundland. His research interests include: peace education, action research, teacher education, curriculum theory, cultural studies, international education, citizenship education, psychoanalytic theory. His most recent work is centered on the identity of the teacher and how that impacts the student. His work frequently includes a link to how internalized factors play into the implementation of curriculum.
