Lounging in the 60s

Objects

This exhibit centers around the 14 objects from the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center from the Mission 66 era. What once was a group of seemingly haphazard objects now spells out a fascinating narrative of movement among visitors to Beaver Meadows Visitor Center. From auditorium benches to standing ashtrays, this exhibit features the smaller details that supported the pillars of Mission 66 ideals every day in Beaver Meadows Visitor Center. While they might seem insignificant separately, these objects collectively relate the integral role Beaver Meadows Visitor Center played as promoters of Mission 66 goals, as well as in facilitating guests.

In this exhibit, there are seating objects, objects that contributed to the overall design of the building, and objects for facilitating waste management.
