If students are attending schools out of their zone, then the studies addressing housing location and assigned school quality have no barring. As you can see in the chart to the right, according to the National Center for Education Statistics, most students in the United States attend their local, assigned public school. This data signifies that schools in poorer districts are being attended by the students that live there.
