Styling a Page
This section describes functionality in Scalar's page editor, which is accessed by clicking the icon (if creating new content) or the icon (if editing existing content) in your Scalar header bar.
Clicking on "Styling" just below the page editor will reveal a dropdown menu with options for modifying the following:
Thumbnail. You can select any image in your book as the thumbnail image for the page--doing so currently has no visible effect within Scalar, but may in the future.
Key image. You can select any image in your book to serve as the header image when using the "Image header" layout or as the background image when using the "Splash" and "Book Splash" layouts.
Background image. You can select any image in your book to serve as the background image for the page. If the page is a path, the same image will also be applied automatically to all pages in the path.
Custom CSS style. Allows custom CSS code to be applied to this page to alter its look and feel. If the page is a path, the same CSS will also be applied automatically to all pages in the path. Learn more about custom CSS.
Custom Javascript. Allows custom Javascript code to be added to the page. If the page is a path, the same code will also be applied automatically to all pages in the path.
Background audio. You can select any audio file in your book to be played as background audio while the user is on the page (an audio player will be embedded at the bottom of the page so the audio can be turned off by the user).
