The purpose of the game is to bring awareness of the social issues faced by immigrants with a language barrier. In the game, the player character cannot speak to many of the other characters they encounter. However, in order to earn enough money and the legal rights to allow the rest of their family to immigrate, they have to navigate a number of challenges whose difficulty is greatly increased by their inability to speak to most people there. During the course of the game, the player character is often treated as an outsider, or expected to already have learned the native language. As previous students of the Digital Diversity class at WSU, we hope this game can help raise awareness of the difficulties that non-english speakers face in the U.S.
