Who made this?
Textile-making was originally carried out by individuals, but by this time, much of the industry centralized production at singular sites. Very few textile-makers made it on their own and became rich and famous, contrasting to what we see with painters for example.
It is highly likely that this textile was made by a worker, or a few, in one place in a city where many skilled people, who learned different techniques on how to weave threads and dye materials, worked to make textiles.
