UCSD Art Mural Support

As a graduating senior this quarter I've reflected on my experiences at UCSD while considering its campus layout.
The campus is certainly unique due to its spacious nature and political history.
Throughout my commutes towards class the Cesar Chavez mural always seemed striking to me due to its mass, vivid nature yet upon closer inspection the intricate, mosaic details are even more interesting. They have a rich history as they were individually hand-crafted in China and specifically imported to UCSD.
I am aware that the piece is meant to celebrate and support the Chicano Legacy.
Like a majority of students, however, I would grow indifferent after initially seeing the murals on campus.

While one can recognize the establishment of art on campus there seems to be a sense of apathy regarding the expansion of a bigger art culture. Ultimately, my piece is meant to draw light on the cultural value of the existing murals on campus and meant to advocate the implementation of more in the future.
