Player Traversal of the Chrono Trigger PlayStation Re-Release
This traversal of Stephen Scoville took place on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the MOVE lab at Washington State University of Vancouver. It is divided into two videos.
By traversing through the PlayStation re-release, we capture the experience of Chrono Trigger as it was intended for the next generation of North American gaming audiences. We witness the preservation of reactive culturalization undertaken through the localization of physical documents and in-game text, as well as the way in which the North American version was bundled with Final Fantasy IV — in what is called Final Fantasy Chronicles. In fact, the full preservation of added content is also seen, in the form of animated cutscenes.
