‘A Woman of Great Courage’: Women in the Printing Trades in Early Modern Europe

Marguerite Brochard (The widow of Rémy Dallin)

Marguerite Brochard (or: Brochart; Brossard; Brossart) married Parisian bookseller Rémy Dallin in April 1606. After he died in 1618, she took over management of the shop. In 1625, she remarried printer Mathieu Le Blanc, but she seems to have continued printing as the widow Rémy Dallin.
