Ocean - ים
Many of the Yiddish poets in Los Angeles made the beauty and power of the Pacific ocean the subject of their works. Some like Rosa Nevodovska and Dora Bayrek lived by the ocean and used it as a terrain to explore other themes. Others like Henry Rosenblatt and Chaver Paver were frequent visitors, and examined the specific Jewish subcultures that emerged in the beach communities of Venice, Ocean Park and Redondo. Poems included in this thematic tag are those that specifically employ the ocean as a topic or motif.
