This selection of materials describes the efforts surrounding exhumation and repatriation of the fallen soldiers’ bodies. During this time, the Michigan Commission traveled to Archangel, Russia, found many of the bodies, exhumed them, and repatriated them to the U.S. for reinterment at various cemeteries across the country.
